Preparing for Web Tests- Strategies
パーリン
In order to ace your web test, you will need strategies. Allow me to introduce some of them!

1. Practise, practise and practise
It is important to practise solving problems again and again. If you are thinking of buying 参考書 (sankousho) aka guide books/question banks from the bookstore, 1 book will be sufficient.
Use that 1 book well and master the problem solving methods.
It might seem better to buy a lot of books to study, but the problem solving methods differ among the books so you might end up confused instead.

2. Familiarize yourself with the pattern of questions (出題パターン shutsudai pataan)
This will help you to solve questions efficiently and progress in the test.
As you practise the question bank, be aware of the pattern of questions that come out.
Different web tests have different patterns, so do familiarize yourself with the unique pattern of each test that you are going to take!

3. Take note of the time
As there is a time limit, it is important to complete as many questions as possible before the time is up.
Plan the time you spend for each question carefully.
Speed is more important than complete attempts.
Skip questions that you are unable to solve.
Spending too much time lingering on 1 question will leave you less time for the remaining problems.
So aim to get 70~80% of correct attempts rather than attempt every single question.

4. Focus on your weak areas
Web tests usually consist of language (言語 gengo) and non-language (非言語 higengo) components.
Each company decides which components gets a greater weightage.
Therefore, it is a big mistake to give up on your weak component and focus only on your strong one!
You should focus on the component that you are weak in.
If you do not have much time to study, choose to focus on your weak component.

5. Mock test (模擬テスト mogi tesuto)
It is important to get used to the feel and flow of the test beforehand.
I recommend taking a mock test so that your nerves don't get the better of you during the actual test.
No matter how much you have studied, being unfamiliar with the feel of the test can hinder you from performing well in the actual test.
