About the 3rd State of Emergency in Japan
カリン
The 3rd State of Emergency was declared from 25th April to 11th May for Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Hyogo prefectures.
It was later extended to 31st May with the addition of Aichi and Fukuoka.
The decision was made to mitigate the rising number of infections in the above prefectures, as well as the rapid increase in infections involving mutant strains of COVID.

Under the latest State of Emergency, large commercial facilities such as theme parks (e.g. Universal Studios Japan, Tokyo Disneyland) have been ordered to remain closed.
Restaurants and bars have been prohibited from serving alcohol and ordered to close by 8pm. There will be a fine of up to 300,000 yen if they do not comply with regulations.
Shopping malls and department stores have been encouraged to close for this period, with many cooperating with government requests.
