Word play with abbreviations

There are abbreviations that cause a play on words and create a stylistic effect.

1)アルバイシュン /arubaishu/ (from アルバイト /arubaito/ part-time job and 売春 /baishuun/ to sell one's spring, engage in prostitution) one who sells one's youth for additional income. The combination of the words アルバイト /arubaito/ and 売春 /baishun/ creates a game of meanings: "some kind of prostitute" or "making money by selling youth".

2)ガリア人 /rapiajin/ boyfriend.l This word is used by OL (young office workers); it is created by shortening the word したがりや/shitagaria/ an object of admiration, and as a result of this reduction, an association with the word ケーリア /ke:pia/ career appears. In other words ガリア人 /gariajin/ means sprestige boyfriend.

3)飲みにケーション(ノミニケーション) /nominike:shion/ drinking conversation. The word is created by addinng the words 飲み /nomi/ drinking and に /ni/ for and reduced ケーション /ke:shyon/, which is probably an abbreviation of the word communication

4)独男 /dokuotoko/ boy, formed from the words 独身 /dokushin/ unmarried and 男 /otoko/ man, can be written using another character and have the following form: 毒男 /doku-otoko, where the first character 毒 /doku/ means poison. Due to this unconventional use of characters, there is a play on words, and the abbreviation 毒男 /dokuotoko/ can be understood as a man doomed to loneliness

5)にくじゃが /nikujyaga/ potatoes with meat. It is formed by combining the words 肉 /niku/ meat and じゃがいも /jiagaymo/ potato with further shortening of the latter in such a way that, based on phonetic similarity, an association with the name of the soloist of the rock band "The Rolling Stones" by Nick Jagger.

Such abbreviations, giving speech an emotional and expressive color, function, as a rule, in a colloquial style.
