About the Organizer | TRI-PhD SALON (Career Development & Recruitment Salon for International PhD Talent)
TRI-PhD SALON is a platform that connects international PhD talent with Japanese companies and supports recruitment, professional development, and career building. Currently, 11 universities participate as university members.
Event Purpose
This event is designed to connect international students pursuing PhD degrees with Japanese companies that are actively recruiting PhD-level and global talent.
Through small-group interactions with company representatives, participants can gain a better understanding of career opportunities at Japanese companies and how to apply their research experience in industry. The event aims to create new opportunities for internships, research collaboration, and future employment.

Keigan is a robotics start-up founded in 2016, based at the ‘Keihanna Open Innovation Centre’ in Kyoto. Our mission is to create ‘robots that anyone can use with ease’.
We develop the entire robot technology stack in-house. At the component level, we have our proprietary ‘KeiganMotor’. Building on this foundation, we have shipped over 500 units of our autonomous mobile robot, ‘KeiganALI’, within Japan. These are in use in factories, restaurants and logistics facilities.
Furthermore, since 2026, we have been developing a semi-humanoid robot that combines a mobile base with a human-like upper body.
The challenges we tackle span motor control, embedded systems, mechatronics design, perception, navigation and manipulation; our solutions never remain confined to the simulation or theoretical stages. Within our team of approximately 30 people, each member takes genuine initiative, working directly with hardware, customers and production sites to turn ideas into products.
